Wire Park represents a creative transformation of what served as an economic cornerstone for Watkinsville across five decades. The initiative aims to revitalize this important corridor through redevelopment of the Southwire industrial park, establishing a dynamic mixed-use community that strengthens local engagement.
The site's vision emerged from a collaborative two-day session facilitated by Gibbs Capital, bringing together Watkinsville residents, stakeholders, and community leadership. The former wire manufacturing building has been reimagined to create gathering spaces incorporating residential units, retail establishments, office areas, greenspace, and accessible common spaces.
Wire Park spans over 60 acres, transforming the historic Southwire manufacturing site into a comprehensive community hub featuring curated businesses, public park areas, creative workspaces, residential properties, and natural woodlands.
